Although I'm not really crazy about it, the wife is hounding me to get her a three wheeler. I have ruled out the giant Gold Wing trikes. Also ruled out all the Chineese junk that is being imported. (Gawd, the horror stories I have read from owners!) She is looking at online ads. She had found a few Honda Silver Wings and a couple of Yamaha Majesties that have been "triked". Anybody know if these trike conversions are any good, or otherwise? Any knowledge in general on here?

The trike kits I have seen are very good quality stuff, so far I haven't seen a poor quality kit but installation has to be equally well done. For what the kits I have seen cost you could buy a small bike for.

A friend of mine got rid of his big fancy Goldwing trke and bought a triked Suzuki Bergman. It looks great, runs great and he loves it. Even in triked form it can still easily travel at fast highway speeds and is so much easier for him to get on and ride than the big Honda. Power windscreen etc. It was used, about 5 years old but had less than a 1000 miles on it. Can't remember exactly what he paid but to me it sounded like a steal. Those big Scooters have intrigued me for years, well ever-since one passed me on the highway one day at about 75 mph riding two-up. hahaha!

If I had to go with three wheels I'd look at the the Can Am Spyder. It's much more stable than the others and some of them are great for touring. They cost about the same, or less, then a Goldwing or Harley trike. https://can-am.brp.com/spyder/2017-models/cruiser-touring/spyder-f3-limited.html
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Why don't you get a side car for your Indian? It would probably be easy to get in and out of. Way cooler than a trike.

I Triked out one of my Sportsters 2 years ago, simple and relatively low cost for a belt or chain drive bike, not sure what a shaft drive kit would cost. My trike kit cost $2200 to my front door and about 5 Hours to install with only a bit of welding... Incedently I really wanted to Trike my America but I was concerned about power so I went with the 1200 Sporty instead. After the install I noticed that the extra weight and drag were not worth the worry, can't really feel much difference at all in straight line performance. The America would have worked out just fine, and would have been a bit better looking. On my Sporty I hand built a small Model A style pick up box as a body as I thought all the available trike body"s would look to big on a Sporty.

Very cool look, not so easy to drive especially if you don't have a leading link front end. I've tried to love two...

http://piaggio-canada.ca/mp3/mp3/images/s6_big_01.pngHere is a trike that hauls butt, corners really well and when at a stand still the front end locks up leaving one's hands free to file nails. (were one inclined to do so)

She's found a Bergman online, and a few others, but I never get a response when I email them. As to the Can Am, I'd be ok with that but research says to buy newer than a 2013 cause those models back had some problems. She is also limited to funds and that is why she is looking for a used one. Also, she really doesn't want a shift so that makes the scooter trikes attractive to her.

Maybe the Guys from St. Louis will chime in. I thought one of them knew the guy doing the Bonnie to trike conversions in Missouri.
