Well so much for throttle by wire, there is a recall for throttles sticking open. https://ultimatemotorcycling.com/2017/01...-sticking-open/

Seems to be a problem with the heated grips. Should have tested them in Blighty, would have found that out

My Indian has the "drive by wire" throttle. Just another electronic widget to go bad. I suppose it does clean up the handlebars some. Still, I'm no fan. Then again, points were ok with me also!

I just replaced a T-120 throttle to repair a broken heating element. Since the throttle is captured by the potentiometer & perch and the perch mounts are indexed to the handlebar Triumph must be thinking of a spacer at the end cap as the cure; that's the only spot I can think that could bind if the grip grew as it heated. This seems like the same binding you could get with the stock America bars if you slid the throttle too far outboard and it was binding on the end cap. With the T-120 perch, it won't slide unless you Drexel away the index nub.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. Herm Albright (1876 - 1944)

I hate all this electronic crapola, mechanical systems lasted forever and if broken were easy and cheap to fix. Cars even shift the transmissions by wire on quite a few now.
