All good things come to an end. The battery had started showing signs of giving up for some time now, the odd tick on starting then would start, going flat and unable to start bike if key left on for more than a minute or two while working on the bike. So replaced it today. If I'm reading the code right then it was still the original one. Code on top reads 4G21E. After a bit of Google it looks like it was born 21st July 2004, not a bad run at all 12 and a half years old. It probably would have seen out the summer...but you never know.
