Hey gents, see the attached. I believe the starter jet is not removable. If this was clogged I assume it would not allow the bike to start. What's the best way to make sure this is not clogged. Carb cleaner, compresses air, god forbid a paper clip Should you be able to see light shined through it?
Any advice on this and how it functions would be most appreciated.

I don't think you should see light through it. It should be closed. It operates under high vacuum feeding fuel on closed throttle. Its like an automatic choke. It should not be bad or need to be messed with.

I may be very wrong on this one.

Starter jet is not servicable , blow some compressed air through it if you suspect it to be clogged. You should not see light through it. If clogged you could try dipping it but it will be a bugger to clear if even possible.

Here's the deal. The bike refused to hit a lick, turn over and over and over.
Ran like a champ, two weeks later would not start. Not even stumble. Fire at plugs, gas in the bowls.
So I spent the better part of the day tracing down possibilities. electrical and fuel. completely dissembled the carbs. They looked great and I found no clogs etc.
Buttoned it all back up and with a little fiddling she came to life. Road it a few miles and she ran like a top.
So I have no idea why she did what she did or what I did to fix it.
Two shots of Bourbon and we're all good to go.

You mean one of these?

Gotta admit, my mind went there first. Rather like talking about starter bikes.

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.
