This jack won't stay up. If I remember right you can bleed the air out of them to make it work. Does anyone remember how to do that? It' been a while since I have used it.Thanks PS

The air is bled out our during full hyd cylinder collapse. I suspect an internal blown seal or a stuck detent valve on the pump. There really isn't too much to a Hyd jack. You can probably replace the jack unbelievably cheap. Try Northern Tool or Harbor Freight.

Give it a little viagra. The valve is probably shot or dirty, easy to work onn not much to them. If I remember right to bleed them you open the fill point and rapidly pump the handle, may have to do that a couple times.

I have one. The instructions say to purge air.
Open release valve by turning the jack handle counterclockwise.
Remove oil fill plug.
Rapidly pump jack handle 6 to 8 full strokes to release trapped air.
Be sure oil level is just below the threads in the oil fill plug hole.

I have another brand that's gotten saggy over the years, I'll have to try this.

I replenished the oil in mine and purged the air and it's been great ever since. The oil was on the shelf at the local auto parts store.

That's all I have ever had to do, collapse the cylinder, top off the oil. If that doesn't fix it, I buy another appropriate pump jack. $38.50 for the cylinder on my motor puller, just recently.

ATF is high detergent hydraulic oil. Makes sense.

I haven't got round to fixing mine. trying to sell it on Craig's list for $25. Let somebody else fix it. Plus I can't use it on my bird. The pipes are too low.

I use Bar Leak jack oil on all my hydraulic jacks. I bleed them from day one then I install Bar Leak. It keeps the seals in good shape and less prone to leaking

Hi Fred. This is your old jack I am talking about. It worked fine when you gave it to me. I'm giving it to a friend in BA. If it's seals he can probably replace them. Good to hear you are still kicking.

Paul I gave that jack to you a few years back. I'm surprised you still have it. Good to hear from you too.
