We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

The lodge in Westby isn't available that weekend. There is another one near Potosi, but I have to see about the price.

What towns have you looked for lodging? Is Timmerman's out? I never made it those years. How about Lansing, McGregor, Bellevue, Savanna/Sabula, Clinton, Le Claire, Muscatine, etc.? I have friends (Buell riders) with family in Dubuque. They ride in that area often. I can ask for riding tips for that area. Maybe I could get them to come with?

This is the place I'm looking at currently. Have to get a head count to get accurate pricing. https://www.vrbo.com/780660If I book it for 15 people it comes out to a little over $170 per person for Thursday night through Sunday. With 20 people it goes down to about $160. What do you guys think? Keep looking for something cheaper?

Wrecked the BA in August (More on that in a different thread) & my employment ended in January.....so cash wise I'll be pretty strapped to make it to Knoxville, or the rally. I "might" be able to persuade a couple of trusty Triumph riders from my home town to come along. Not sure though. I'll check in with them.

It is looking like we will not be able to make it due to an out of town wedding that same weekend.
I may be able to get in Thursday and Friday but can't say for certain just yet.

The lodge I had identified is no longer available. We'll have to go with plan B. I think with only 9 or 10 people the lodge would have been too expensive anyway. I'll continue researching options.

This is one of the only places I can find that has some twin beds (4). The only drawback is that it only holds 12 people. As of right now we have 9, with a couple of maybes. Based on that I'm thinking I'm going to go ahead and book it. If we end up with 12 people it will be $144 per person. If we end up with more than 12 I'll sleep on the couch.

So the place is going to be 1725 for the weekend, which comes out to $144 per person, which for three nights in Galena is hard to beat. There is also a $500 refundable security deposit. I'm going to try to pick that up myself and hopefully no one destroys anything.
