I was getting the gold pipe thing when I decided to remove the AI.Afterwards I am still getting the gold on my pipes. Now I have heard claims that the pingle will increase flow. Now my question is will a pingle do the trick or to take care of my lean problem do I need to rejet?OR do I need to do both? Also I'm considering removing snorkels and going UNI on my filter.Any input would be greatly appriciated.

The Pingel may provide more fuel, but it won't provide any more than the carbs (bowls/floats) ask for. If the only mod you've made is removing the AI, your pilot screws need to be adjusted out some. See Pat's (Dinqua's) site for instructions. Unless you've made other mods, you probably don't need to re-jet. Yet.

KH, have you seen the size of the main jets in your carbs? Add the size of two main jet holes and that is the max your system can flow. I do not care what size petcock you put on your bike. It is just a line of BS to get you to buy the product.Good lord these Triumps are just a rolling pile. I mean the petcock is not adequate, the coils weak, the spark plug wires substandard, the drive chain is messy, the carbs are poor, the air filter system is barely functional, the rev limiter is set to low, its just effen amazing they run at all. I HAD a problem with the left side turning gold. Right was fine. It appears in my case balancing the carbs was needed. I was way too hot on the "golding" side. So far so good.

Hey Grump, I have already done the pilot screws to a hair under 3 turns. Now I got my bike used and it came with the Triumph long TOR's but do not know if any rejet was done. Also I balanced my carbs after the AI removal(and I did take advantange of Pat's instructions on his sight)So do I need to turn more or less on the pilot screws?Thank you for your time.
khatt.

Adjust the idle mixture one side at a time. Tune for max idle speed, readjusting the idle speed as needed. It may still pop a little on deceleration at very low engine speeds, but it will run nice. Be sure to rebalance the carbs when you are done.

Time for someone to find a stock replacement shutoff valve from something else, that could be adapted to our Triumphs.

Personally, I really like the valves from Triumphs of old, but.....
