I live in the Inland Empire. Got Bubs, no re-jet necessary. Runs perfect with Ai removed and unifilter.

I had the BUB Dresser Dogs installed by the dealer when I purchased the TBA, I believe they said that 130's were installed. The only complaint is that it dropped my mileage to 45 miles per gallon compared to AmyLee's TBA's 50 miles per gallon. Bob

I've got slashcuts - no rejet, stock air cleaner, etc. Plugs are fine. Gas mileage is low to mid 40's. I compared the mileage to the stock pipes and it seemed like my mileage actually improved a bit with the Bubs on I spoke with the factory (February?) and they are now advising new owners to rejet - because they say the newer (post '04) bikes are set even leaner at the factory (you guessed it, exhaust standards) and so Bub changed their rejet recommendation.

I thought the mains jets went from 110 to 120 in 04. Maybe I am wrong.

Same as most of these guys...BUB slashcuts, no rejetting was needed. AI/snorkel tweaked.

I was also told by the dealer that my 05 TBA had 120 mains? Could they be wrong?

Dowop - I don't know. Just passing on some info I got from the techie at BUB when I called about their rejet recommendation... I was told that the newer trumpets are running leaner, hence the change.

My 2003 Speedy originally had 120s. I think the TBA/Speedmasters have always had 120s.

On second thought...maybe I need to rejet or something after all. A buddy just told me that Im running very lean because the inside of my BUB slashcuts are clean as a whistle after 9 months of use and I have had a backfire 2-3 times starting it up, and my pipes make a distinct sound when I turn the bike off (hey is this normal?? It's not really a backfire, just sounds like one last THUMP in each pipe after I turn it off...one guy heard it at a gas station and said "uh-oh, better get that checked out"). Elevation: about 2100 feet here in the High-Desert.
I am not mechanically inclined so somebody give me some pointers if you would be so kind.
-How can I adjust it to make it run richer (Im SURE there's a thread, just didnt find it after a search, give me the title if you dont mind).
-Is that sound in the pipes anything to worry about?

What does that mean? If the AI is still in it could be the cause of your "thump" on shutdown. Mine did the same thing 'til I removed the AI.

they put 132's Mains on my bike, and I put a TBS Needle in later. All Snorkels gone, AI gone of course, and I'm at about 650feet above sea level. Oh, also just recently drilled out the slides on my carbs. My bike had 120's in it from the factory.
