Had the bike out today for a nice ride. Hit a stretch of interstate with light traffic and decided the let her run a bit. I don't do this often but I have noticed this before. She will run 85-90 all day. If push past this, she will get to around 98 and run out of steam. Engine will surge slightly but that is all she has. RPM is around 6200. This is a 13 America running stock sprockets, AI removed and straight through TORs from carbed bike. Any ideas why she is bogging down?

After installing the TORS did you have the EFI tuned? These bikes are built to run lean, and open exhaust only adds to the lean condition.

Are you still running the base fuel map/tune? Or has the TOR tune been loaded? There were discussions a while back (here or elsewhere) and there seems there was a speed limiter (keeps you under 100MPH) in the map for some years. Believe it was not included in the TOR map or was selectable using TuneECU. Not sure if the limit applied to 4th gear or only 5th. Maybe red line 4th gear and check the speed?
The older mechanical drive speedo did over report speed by a bit so 100 displayed was more like 95 actual. And the newer models can have the speedo correction factor tweeked in the map for more accurate display.

I never did load the new tune as the bike runs great with no popping.. Funny you mentioned the limiter. I did hit the ton once in 4th. It only does this in 5th. I probably should look into a tune. Would the dealer be the best bet or tuneup?

I would try a one tooth lower front sprocket too. I find 5th gear a fairly tall final ratio with a 18 T front sprocket with the engine power, at stock output.

Mark, the dealer will likely charge you maybe a half hr time to load the TOR tune as it's only a data connection and download. If you are the DIY type and like more control download TuneECU. If it looks interesting buy the ~$20 ODBII-USB cable and load the TOR tune yourself. Or roam around the TTP.com site and purchase an optimized tune for your configuration.

I agree completely.

Does anyone know if tuneECU has a tune for the 13 America? The last time I looked (it's been a while) there was not.

They are listed by VIN number range rather than year. Seems all but the latest models have a TOR/Aftermarket Silencers choice. http://www.tuneecu.com/Twin_OEM_Tune_list.html
