My nearest dealer is 2 hrs away. There is a very competent mechanic at a private bike sshop in town. He saaid get him what he needs and he will tune/ service bikr.

I will be purchasing the TEC 2/2 pipes.

Q1 I will buy the cable. can the mechanic download a tune to his laptop direct from tuneECU ? TEC recmmends the arrow map

Q2 he has shimms for the 12,000 mile valve tuneup. He need to know the diameter of the shimms in a 2012 bonneville?

thanks in advace for any help. I am in the dark. Tjhe Bonnie was an impul;se buy! I have a 1991 honda st1100 carbs. many moons ago in Suffolk the UK I had a Bonnie and at 53 felt a little nostalgic when I saw this one.

can't help with the shims, someone will but I bought the cable from here, its the best out there and guaranteed to work.

Welcome to the site Kevin. The shims are standard 25mm shims. Available from your dealer. I got the data below from the tech vault, 11th post by Moe.

Valve Adjustments:
Yamaha Shims for the V-Max are direct replacements for Triumph shims.

SOB shims

25mm Used in Honda ('79--'83 4-cylinder CB750, 900, 1000, and 1100 series engines, and 1050 CBX 6-cylinder engines, and others), Yamaha (V-Max, and the FJ1100/1200 series), Triumph 3- and 4-cylinder liquid-cooled motorcycle engines, and older Toyota car engines.
