Looks like fun. I would hate to have to swim with all that riding gear on.
I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.

Oh Dear, I must be getting old....all I could think was that such a beautiful place would be the better for the absence of oiks on noisy bikes. But I think that about jet skis too....... Bah Humbug! Al

I saw that on a news clip the other day. My question is what if you kill the engine or stop out there in the middle of the ocean? I'm thinking the bike would sink like a stone.

I don't think this is a sport any of us will try and perhaps this guy might think twice about doing it again but good on him for making it work. Love to know if this was a one take.

Or, was it CGI and not done at all?

Eh.... No!
I like riding my bike on the road.
But...
I don't want to see that guy in my surfing lineup. Go buzz someone else on land, leave my blue and quiet waters alone.
That was just sad to see. A dirty, spitting oil, noisy motocross bike slashing through the peaceful blue beauty of the waters in Tahiti.
No, I didn't like that stunt at all.

CGI good question. I hope not but could you imagine being one of the legitamate surfers in the water watching that bike pass in front of you? Soiled surfer shorts I think.

Amazing stuff. But I totally get the negative comments about the noisy biker in the water. But it could have been worse. It could have been a Harley!

I think for my sanity I will go with CGI> He came within feet of killing surfers. Totally out of line. Had he hit one, if it was real, he should be charged with a big crime.
Look at 2:21 frame. I figure if somebody was motocrossing on the ocean toward me at 40MPH I would be looking at him.

I have never seen that high of a resolution option on a you tube vid before, perhaps it was computer generated.

On ABC News GMA apparently he really did it. A closer look at his bike in the TV show has big boards under the tires and on the sides. Here is a good link. Two years to do it and several injuries.

Very irresponsible to do it so close to people in the water.

I suspect being impaled by another surfers board is no fun either yet they risk that every day while out in the waves. Two bits they were cheering for him as he past within feet.
