Last month, my pet wolf died suddenly. (Miss him a lot) Now, i found the 5ft king snake that was keeping my cow pasture free of rattlers all flattened out on the road. He wasn't as close as the wolf but I will miss his help.

Sorry about your wolf friend. Even the king snake, some idiot probly ran over him, like the only good snake is a dead snake. I had to remove a big king snake like that last week, played with him a bit, then let him go behind my house. Animals are so cool.

I ran over a mommy opossum last week, felt really bad. I like them, my mom had one for a pet. I stopped and found 4 babies still alive so I picked them up and took them home. They were very young and needed mommys milk, cow milk would make them sick. Puppy milk from the pet store will work but I got them to an animal rescue the next day. They were cute and seemed strong. I called a few days later. 3 survived and were doing well and going to make it to be released back into the wild, one was too badly injured. I feel better that I was at least able to save the three.

You are the first person I have ever heard of having a wolf as a pet there must have been a special bond. I thought they only tolerated human beings.

It's a great story how I met him. We had an elderly manchester terrier who felt very insecure without a fence. I built one in the front yard for her and one day, the mrs had her out and started yelling, "Come quick, there's a wolf!" I went out and there he was. He seemed very friendly so I offered him some water. He hung around for a few days and then, he met me when I came home from work. I petted him and he put his head in my hand and escorted me to the door. We'd been best of friends since. He moved in with the dogs I had in the back yard. They tried to teach him to bark, but he never quite got the hang of it. After a couple of arfs, he'd break into a howl.

That's really cool, I thought he was just a wild wolf that you saw often. Sorry to hear you lost a real friend. My mom has a young bear that is similar. He hangs on the back porch of my moms house even when they are out on the porch with him. They talk to him and he just cocks his head and looks at them. He is the only bear they get that they don't mind him getting in the bird feeders because he never breaks anything but very gently eats the feed. He has been around for 2 years now.

Its rewarding having contact with wild animals. We get a pair of Malard ducks that come back every year to eat food from below our bird feeder and splash around in the standing water in our back yard they let me get within 10 ft especially if dumping some extra seed on the ground for them. Lately a crow has come by and I fed it not hand to mouth but threw some food out in the back yard. It (assume it is a male) has brought its mate once to share the food but would not let her get the food he flew down picked it up and flew up into the big pine before sharing.
