So.... the pipes that were on my Speedy when I bought it started rattling BADLY as the baffles had broken free and were loose inside the pipes. There was no way to get them out without cutting the pipes. The metal clanking/rattling noise was driving me a tad mental, so I decided to experiment and make my own pipes. I got them operational today. They are rough right now, but I am disassembling them tonight so I can pretty them up a bit. Here ya go.... They sound Excellent - Not too loud, not too quiet. They are just right IMO. I have some high temp (1200 degree) primer and Gloss Black paint that I will shoot them with this weekend. I'll post pics of the finished product in a few days.

Interesting...how did you go about it, what was necessary to fit the oem pipe hanger brackets?

Let's see the baffles, if you're going to use them, of course.

Went to the local muffler install shop and had them weld a 1 7/8 pipe inside a 2 inch pipe. Went home an trimmed the pipes to size and filled in the welded joint. Then I made a little homemade lathe, mounted the pipes and sanded them nice and smooth. The baffles are here They are 13" Paughco universal baffles. I wrapped them with fiberglass matting and stuffed them. With that alone they were way too loud. So, I put these in the tips 4" Paughco universal baffles, NOT wrapped and 1" cut off.

Those pipes really do sound good, nice job. I like the idea of those floorboards as well as the pegs, did you make them or can they be bought.

The fairing is an Emgo Cafe Fairing. They are available all over the interwebz at approx. $70.00.... http://4into1.com/emgo-viper-cafe-racer-front-fairing/The "floor boards" were a purchase from a guy on T-Rat. He is/was a machinist and basically cut some 3/8" inch aluminum plate and attached some Kuryakyn Iso-boards to them. They took some getting used to, but I really like them.

Hi there, Nice set of pipes you made there. Say, I was watching a couple of your other youtube videos you have posted of your '12 Speedy, and I was noticing you had some pea-shooters mounted on it before. Would you be interested in selling those possibly? If so, I may be interested in buying them for my '12 America. Are the pea-shooters the ones you are referring to with the loose baffles making all the racket? If so, why can't they be removed? It looked like on one of your videos that you posted, you demonstrated the sound of the pea-shooters with, and "without" the baffles.
