So I'm trying to think of a way to safely take a spare set of keys along on the trip to the west coast. The Indian doesn't need an ignition key, but I will be locking up the forks, disk brake lock and cable lock. Three keys. I already have the keys to those on a ring that I carry on my person, but I'm trying to figure out a way to hide another set on the bike in case I would lose the first ring. (probably unlikely, cause I would only be locking it up at night in the campground or the hotel. Still, I'm paranoid and like to be prepared) I thought about ducktaping them under the seat. A bike thief would have to take the seat off the bike with wrenches to find them and I don't suppose most thieves are that ambitious. Any other ideas?

you could get one of those magnetic key boxes and tuck it up under the rear fender or something...

I like the under the seat idea. I've had one of those magnetic boxes fall off before.

Maybe carry the spare on your person, like duct taped to the inside of a boot?

They make those hide a key type things out of nylon with Velcro and they don't fall off!! The sticky peice sticks and you can't hardly pull it off and then we all know the power of Velcro. I have used them on many vehicles and have never lost a key where on the other hand I lost a Cple when I used the magnet type. They are cheap and you can find them at just about any hardware or lock shop and I have seen them at flea mkts and I think I seen them at Home Depot . Worth the Cple $ cuz they work
ENJOY!!!!! NEWT!!!!!

I keep spare bike keys in my luggage (usually a duffel). A spare key to the duffel is stashed in the bike's tool roll.

At my age I put them in my boot, the pain never lets me forget where I put them.

Yeah I would do something like that. I would be nervous about putting a key anywhere on my bike and leaving it in a motel lot. Are you taking an extra electronic keyphob thingie, Rich?

I have two jackets a leather and a textile, both have small zippered pockets in them that are pretty useless other than for small stuff. I put my spare bike, house and luggage locking keys in a small leather pouch and into the pocket zipped up nice and secure. I always ride in a jacket regardless of how hot it gets (cause I love my skin) so keys are always with me....

The old key in the wallet trick but you'll need to remove the plastic off the end if there is any.
