Well very sad and scary moment on Saturday my father who is 66 years old miss judged a corner and layed his america down in to a guard rail. He is currently in the ICU with 3 broken ribs and is having a very hard time breathing. He will get through it but it is going to be a long recovery. The bike will likely be totaled, I hope to buy it back to eather use parts or rebuld it in to a bobber.

Sucks, hope he recovers soon and you are able to do something with his bike. I see it is on a Harbor Freight lift.

Man, by the looks of that bike it's good to hear you say " He will get through it." I sure hope he recovers well and sooner than later.
Bet he could use some Onse.

Just saw your post here, Chuck. Sorry to hear this.

But, seein' as how your Dad is only 66 years old(and ya know what they say about "60 bein' the new 50" now days", doncha?!), I'm sure your Dad will come through this with flying colors very soon and considering how relatively young he actually is.

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I looked real close at the bike yesterday. I think the shifting shaft that goes in to the motor is bent forward. I will have to take the clutch cover off to see more. But I think it pretty well toast. I am going to measure the frame to try to find how true it is. My bike is on salvage so his bike will keep its clean title. I may switch frames, I will probably buy the whole bike from him for parts for me then sell off what I don't want that is still usable.

He is still in ICU Because it hurts to breath he is not taking full breaths which ends up making him cough which hurts allot.

It was last weekend 2 years ago we went to the Benington Bash and he slid out in a corner. He was able to pick it up and keep riding not as luck this time. But it was a great weekend with lots of good memory's. Even thought it is hard to see him in pain it has been great ridding with him for the past few year. We have not done a lot of father son things because he worked allot when I was younger.

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers we are both sad we never made it to the NorEast rally.
