Carb cleaner or fuel? I clean the parts that fit, in the dishwasher. The wife goes mental about it but it does a good job.

For stuff like that I use hot water and an SOS pad and a wire wheel on the brass. Never had to clean a slide with rubber diaphram but better be careful not to puncture or tear the rubber. (might get her pregnant! )

I don't know about Europe, but here in the states you can buy a metal pail of carb cleaner and it comes with an internal basket, you lift the basket up and out, put the carburetor in the basket, drop it in the solvent and let it soak overnight, pretty much loosens any gunk and makes it removal able with a clean rag. And you reuse it several times if you make an effort to degrease what you can on the exterior. I have had the same can of it for 20 years, and it's still good. I'll see if I can google it up. There we go, carb_clean BTW, I thought our fuel was bad, but what are they selling you there?

Unfortunately they don't ship chemicals and paint outside US. And I've tried to google it to see if there's someone, somewhere her in Europe that sells this Gunk carbcleaner, but I can't find one. Anybody who knows?

Are you familiar with ultrasonic parts cleaners? Most police depts. have them to clean their sidearms. They do a nice job and would work great on carbs..I'm not suggesting you buy one, just borrow.

not sure if this is good or not but i have used auto transmission fluid to clean many parts, i let them sit in it over night and the detergents in the oil break down allot of the gunk then a few easy sprays with a cleaner and whipe clean. JMTC

We used to put transmission fluid in the gas tank back before all these fuel treatments were available. It would clean up a fuel system.

Pretty sure Harbor Freight has cheap sonic cleaners... I see one in my future Not sure about Europe, but a lot of chemical labs I've been in (mainly pharmaceuticals) use them to clean stuff and degass their solvents as well. Maybe you know someone... We used to clean check valves by putting them in a little methanol and sonicate them for 10 minutes.
