Well, after spending 5 years out here in Colorado, 2 of which have been unemployed and looking for work, I'm saying the hell with Colorful Colorado and heading back East, should've never left. But hopefully should have an offer on a contract job that'll buy me more time to find a permanent job back in South Carolina and I'll move the family back once i've got that nailed down. That's 10 years of my life that I won't get back. The first 3 years here were pretty decent, after that pure crap! Can't wait to put Kansas between me and the most erratic job market I've ever seen!

Here's hopin' there'll be greener pastures for you and the family back at the old homestead.
(...btw...can't believe it's been five whole years since you moved out this way...tempus fugit, eh?!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Thanks Dwight. Haven't got near the amount of riding in up in the mountains either, thanks to the lack of money to resolve some otherwise minor electrical issues.

Oh, and no worries about greener pastures, they get more rain out there than we do on the high prairie!

Yeah, gotta admit they DO get a lot more rain back there in the Southeast than we do out here in the West, and thus making everything much more green in general.
(...not to mention a lot more HUMID during those hot and muggy summers down that-a-way TOO, of course!!!)

One fun thing about the Southeast. It's a hoot watching the natives drive on those rare occasions that they get snow.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Sorry to hear about you time in Colorado. What kind of work do you do? If you move to the CSRA maybe we can ride together. While it is only 50 today it was 80 last Wednesday. We have 2 good size ridding groups. The Star group out of Aiken Motorcycles, and Southern Cruisers has an Augusta, Ga chapter. We also have 2 Triumph dealers, Augusta Triumph in Augusta and Ridge Motor Sports in Batesburg, SC

Whitt, I'm a Manufacturing Engineer. I'm familiar with Ridge, they rebuilt my bike after an accident in 2004. What's CSRA?

Well, looks like, as usual in my life, we'll have a little drama in my path to workingdom. Yep, Senors y Senoras, I am an undocumented worker it seems. I have to provide documents for the I-9 certification, but have misplaced most of it during the move to Colorado. SO, shell out some money, get a new birth certificate, and hope I can get it all here in time to leave by next Wednesday, and hope of course, that my neighbors don't call Migracion on me!!!!! That's what I get for letting my son Connor listen to La Tricolor (the local Mexican folk station on the radio that he likes) while cruising through the neighborhood!

Sorry work has kept me away for a few days. Yes CSRA stands for Central Savannah River Area which is Aiken, SC, Augusta, Ga and all the little towns surrounding them.

Wasn't sure if maybe it stood for Confederate States Riding Association, as I recall seeing a lot of places with the Stars and Bars flying when I would ride or drive over to Blacksburg to Ridge Motor Sports....

Can't say that i've been overly impressed out here with their driving skills when we get snow, and we've got a ton of transplants from Minnesota, Iowa, and other parts of the midwest who SHOULD know better!

Should have a phone interview with VW up in Chattanooga, so just a long spit from Chy and Di, if all works out once I get there. My phone interview for a job in Charleston died, so I'm in Anderson, SC for the next 3 months at least. My bike stays out here until I find a permanent job back there and can move everything out.
