Hi Guys, Its been a while I know but now we`ve got some figures for you to digest. We have presented the results from our 900 Speedmaster project together for direct comparison in the following order.
1. Standard bike.
2. Standard bike with only our pipes.
3. Standard bike with pipes and cams.
4. Reworked cylinder head, our cams and pipes.
5. Reworked cylinder head, our cams, pipes and Keihin CR`s.

We have had some fun with this for sure and riding the bike now is an absolute hoot, and increase of 57% peak bhp. If we can get the same from the Scrambler that will be an increase of over 80% as it starts off with 45bhp instead of the Speedmasters 52bhp - yes its true.....

Thanks for your patience guys.

And for all you 270 - 800 guys and 360 owners out there -watch this space work has begun....

The dip on the highest output curve was in fact my fault for cracking the throttle too quickly with the Keihin CR`s, An extremely limited time frame did not allow for further runs to correct this, there is no actual dip in normal operating conditions. Yet another late Friday night.....

When we get the bike back we will do some more.

See what happens when politicians fancy themselves to be engineers?

At any rate, well done! I had a feeling that proper valve timing would do a lot to wake up the new Speedmasters.

Have you done any before/after emissions tests to see if that was the real the reason for the really bad original valve timing and whether it had worked?

Hey Graeme, what kind of A/F did you have with your carb settings? Were you running rich or lean with your initial settings? Were you still using the airbox, or had you gone "freaked"? Thanks again!

Hi, No we havent done that. To be honest if you look closely at Triumph history you`ll see a great deal of "tune" meddling to produce a differing model structure within a fairly limited amount of basic engine (and frame) units - its just more of the same again if you ask me. Lets see what they do with the baby Triple now shall we?

Hi, Thanks for your question. We have carried out something in the region of 200 dyno runs now over the last few months so I cant give you a definitive answer on where we were on the mixture thing as we have been through an almost unbelievable amount of combinations. We still have the airbox with the internal baffle cut out, the lid opened right out and a DNA filter.
