234 years, Officially Patriot loss, but, devastated the English troops. Don't think that red uniform will look good on my blue America, hehehe.

Hey Warren, are you out there at the re-enactment? It's a little wet today; I've been to it a couple of times in the past. I think it's pretty cool, but really like going out there on a regular day when it's quiet and not many people around. Sounds corny, but I think you can kind of "feel" the history in the woods and fields when it's quiet and there is just a breeze blowing. Used to live just a couple miles from there and ran on the greenway and trails out there a lot.

Hopefully the rain holds off this weekend and doesn't disrupt the re-enactment. Enjoy it if you're going.

Not many people out there in the rain, but we had fun. Red Coats marching with a fife and Patriots in the woods. Rain kept many away, I was worried it would be too crowded, but, very nice. What a place to fight with single shot weapons.

Rather like the Battle of Bunker (Breeds) Hill. If the Redcoats had won one more battle like that one there wouldn't have been any Redcoats left.

There is an old story about a US Marine general being invited to a dining in at the headquarters of the regiment that finally took the hill. A British officer takes him on a tour of the regiments many trophies and points out the banner they took at the battle. He says "You'll notice that we still have the colors," to which the US Marine remarks "Yes, but we still have the hill."

Typical Jarhead

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.
