Seems expensive to me, but I wouldn't need things like the drill bits. Depending what year you are working on you wouldn't need them for the slide hole mod since later carbs already have the larger hole. Jets are cheap, not sure what they are selling you for springs but they are not a generic item and really depends what you are going for in that department. Needle shims are really just washers and also very cheap.

It seems like they are really selling their instructions and expertise. Ive never tuned a carb before and i wont have the slightest idea of what fixes the various problems.
Dinquas jet calc suggested 157.5 main jets and that cant be right based on what ive been reading.

Can't look at just one component alone, each effects the other.

Thats not what the calculator gives you. Are you running factory size pilots? I am at 2k ft above, stock piots with Bubs and dual pods with 154 mains. Which is what the calculator should give you as well.

you are correct sir! after running it again it came out to 154 main jets. So at least I've got that gong for me. Did you have to use any shims or change any springs or anything?

Dinq s calculator gives you a good reference for a starting point, results can and do vary. On two differently configured bikes, an '05 and a '06, both calculator references ran a tad on one to very rich on the other. Do I endorse the calc, hell yes.

I found it to run rich too but gives a very good starting point. On a side note, the stock pilot is too small for any intake and/or exhaust change.

I agree, if i had the bike this year i would have gone up one size on the pilots and kept the 154's in, i also had the BC intakes on it so uppin the pilot size would have been the right thing to do for sure.

no i did not, i felt the bike ran fine with just the new mains, direct swap. But i was not lookin at getting the most out of her, and i would rather she ran a little rich than lien.

Switching to TBS needles, no shims and Kawa springs was a real enhancement for me as well , now remembering back. If you really want to get a grasp on our carbs, read all of B02S4 s posts on the subject, he is a fuel/air mix, guru for a lot of us.

I agree, I can tune a carb but he has gone way beyond anything I have time or desire to do.
