THIS SITE has HID projector kits that fit our 7 inch light buckets. Can't comment on how good they are. Stick with a projector kit instead of an HID bulb alone. Our stock buckets may not handle the light output of the bulb.

My chum installed an HID bulb in his stock metric cruiser headlight and was constantly flashed by oncoming traffic even on low beam. He pulled it and went back to a good quality Halogen.

Don't just install a HID bulb in your light bucket. It will scatter the light everywhere, be annoying to oncoming traffic and even if it looks brighter, it doesn't work. It needs to have a bucket/projector tailored to the hid bulb.

How do I know? The previous owner of my bike had one. It was terrible. I took it out quickly.

If you want less strain on the electric system, get one of the new Cree LED lightbulb. There's a couple of threads in here about them. Brighter than stock bulb, cheaper and a lot less wattage needed.

That's what I got running on my bike now.

We hath a big chat about those a few months ago. Cree was the brand. Look it up in the "search" and you'll find it. Ebay hath them for around 55.00 to 60.00. If thou gets one thou wilt have no regrets.

You gotta do somefin about that name.

OK, Oofty, here is the product on eBay. This is actually two units, the same price I paid for just one. Same part number I have. You could get this and have a spare or split the cost with one of these fine gentlemen here on this wonderful institution.

I'm going to a H4 LED headlight bulb this year. I checked out your link Wade, which in turn led me to this ebay listing. These are 30 x 2 watts and 3800 lm x 2 vs. 25 x 2 watts and 1800 lm x 2. In my link it doesn't break it down by hi/low beam, just says "up to x number of lm". Nevertheless there seems to be a huge discrepancy between the two. I must be missing something here or...?

Good qwustion there, Stickman. Looks like your link is 30w low and 60w high beam?
Dunno, looks like that is a newer part. May be worth a try, but this I know- the Cree lamp like I got is more than I ever expected.

What does 'lm' signify, Lumens?
