Gents,

So I just finished up cleaning my carbs. I tore them down, cleaned em, put them back together and fired the ol girl up on the first try. It seems to run great and idles even better than it did before. Now to the problem- both carbs are leaking where the bowls mate to the carb. Screws are all tight and gaskets installed so I'm a bit puzzled. I don't remember there being adjustment on the floats which might have gotten messed with. Any ideas what may be causing both carbs to leak like this?

Also, what would you guys recommend a good rpm idle setting to be at on an 06' America?

Thanks in advance.

The floats are adjustable by bending the part that pushes on the float needle. You can put a piece of clear tube on the bowl drain and hold it up along side the carbs, then open the drain. The fuel level in the tube will rise to the same as what is in the bowl. It should be slightly lower than the seam between the carb body and bowl.

Did you replace the carb seals (gaskets)? My 05 speedy had the same issue until I replaced them.

I've been into my 03 carbs more times than I can recall. Never replaced those rubber seals.

Darn good piece of technical advice.
