I never noticed that the removal of the front wheel would require a hex bit socket until I went to remove my front
wheel today to replace the front tire. I am a mechanic and have most all tools needed for metric bikes but the large hex bit socket stumped me. I found it is an M12 hex bit socket and that Autozone carries a hex bit 3 pack sized M12, M14 and M17. Don't need the 14 and 17 but the M12 will become part of my on-road tool kit. The kit is made by Duralast and is called a 3 Pc. Hex Bit Set - Metric and is p/n 70-065. Cost just a bit over $10. These are NOT impact bits but the part being taken off is pretty fine thread and not all that tight (has low torque value) so I doubt you will break one of these hex bits if using an air impact gun. The bits are 1/2 and if you use a breaker bar by hand, don't loosen the pinch bolts below the axle... break the M12 fitting loose then remove it and then remove the pinch bolts as they will keep the axle from turning while you break the M12 fitting loose.
