Are all 2002 Americas prefire? Have a friend who wants to sell his and I was wondering. Also what difference does it make to most people? I know a few aficionados care but who else?

I saw this article where the fire occurred around April 22, 2002, so anything before that would be pre-fire. I bought my 2002 cardinal Red TBA in April of 2002 so I guess it would have had to been manufactured before the fire. I don't think there is any difference. The real change came in 2008 when they changed the tank and went to FI and assembled the American bound versions in Thailand. http://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/2002/april/the-triumph-factory-fire/PS: I just read on Wiki that the fire occurred on March 15, 2002. They didn't get the factory rebuilt and up and running again until Sept. of that year. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triumph_Motorcycles_Ltd

Yes, if my memory (questionable at best) is correct, one of the interests, and complaints on ba.com was folks polishing these bits.

Or would that be "virtual." I always get those mixed up, with a little "venereal" thrown into the mix, which in a way ties into what it's like to ride a Triumph.
