Now I'm no great engineer but this works a treat and is really strong. I can lean against it without it moving. Hooks under the saddlebag rear support mount and held in place by seat bolt. I hate having a sissy bar on the bike but can now have one when taking one of the kids for a ride. 2 minutes to put on. Sissy bar is a Givi one for a Suzuki Boulevard 800

looks neat, the only thing i might concerned with is someone really liening on the back rest and dimpling the fender upwards, little people should be fine though LOL.

This is a mark two version. The first was a completely different design that only used the seat mount bolt and had a tail that rested on the guard. That was used for over a year without any damage issues, but is only used rarely.
