Hope Keith and his crew didn't treat them like they were treated in Argentina. Maybe that's why reports had them driving WITHOUT plates.

Hmmmmmm...I must've missed their Argentina sortie somewhere along the line, Steve.
So tell me, did the local locos DOWN THERE treat the boys from Blightly even WORSE than some of our OWN southern boys did a few years back after they plastered certain political messages all over the vehicles they were driving and that were SURE to arouse the ire of said southern boys???
(...I'm SURE you remember THAT one, doncha?!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Turns out I missed the whole thing. But had I known I would have taken my bike out in the snow and ice, THEN they would have noticed ME and wanted to talk to ME!
Live to love, love to live.

The guys got run out of Argentina. If I recall, it had to do with their license plate and claimed connections to the Falklands skirmish. They were mobbed (not in a good way), windows broken and they skedaddled. The episode hasn't aired and the producers aren't sure it ever will. TG is one of the largest syndicated shows out there. I'm sure if the Argentina episode does air, it will be limited.
Update:
Here's a link to the BBC story.

Looks like it will be aired at Christmas. In how much detail, I wonder?

Thanks for the update here, Steve.
And so in this report it is stated:
"Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson said he was "shocked" when someone pointed out the link between the number-plate and the Falklands War when they were days into filming."
Well, all I can say to THAT is...seein' as how Clarkson and the great classic film actor Claude Rains both hailed/hail from the same country, I think that Clarkson's impression of Mr.Rains saying one of his most famous lines of "I'm shocked (SHOCKED, etc, etc, etc") seems a mighty poor one indeed here!
(...in other words, while it DOES seem there was quite the overreaction by the Argentine element down there, I REALLY REALLY doubt that that fat-assed Brit is tellin' the WHOLE truth here, and just Like Rains' Capt Renault was in the movie "Casablanca" when he "learns" that there's gambling going on inside Rick's Cafe Americain!!!)
