Either do that or put a stud into the riser that has been stepped down to fit the smaller hole. There may be a Helicoil or a similar type of thread insert you can use to reduce the tapped hole down to the size hole in the yoke.

$21.95 for two studs? I suppose that being a machinist has its advantages sometimes.

I could have lathe profiled some drill rod and cut the threads with die nuts, but modern day high strength bolts actually have the threads forged or rolled if you prefer, onto the shank and are advertised as stronger. The part of the bike I'm holding onto needs to be strong like a big Indian for my sense of well being.

I have had mine on now for almost 10 years with no issues I think the stainless is plenty strong for the application. I have stainless bolts in the riser cap too so I have no rust either.

Drilled mine. Probably ruined somebody's chances for a 100 point score at a 2035 Concours. Well, that and a few other things...

I am looking to trade my drilled out top yoke for a standard one if that is what you are talking about. I am going back to some old risers I liked better.

Why...just use metric bolts the hole size is not much different between the metric bolt and the Std bolt

Brent, find some DOM tubing that is .400" ID and 1/2 .500" OD and you can bush the drillings to fit 10mm or remove for the 1/2" bolt size. web page Hack saw to length and insert in the drilled out holes, you're back to 10 mm
