Not with another bike or bike company... Ive been working on a little project called a wineador. Its a wine fridge/cooler converted into a humidor. They are called "wineador". Mine is coming along nicely. I'll get my permanent spanish cedar shelves/drawers around Christmas. For now Im using temporary cedar trays, hydration comes from 1 lb of Heartfelt 70% hydration beads (they both provide and pull humidity from the air and are very accurate). Im still working on getting reliable hygrometers (the little devices that measure humidity) and have been through two different brands that were both less than stellar. I have a new set calibrating right now and these should be it (third times a charm...right?). Anyway... here are some pics/descriptions: My Bahia Blu drawer. A budget smoke thats good enough to have any time, any where, any reason. A couple Opus X Perfection As and a vintage box of Royal Jamaica's that Im hoping will come back from near death. I smoked one a couple days ago and it had more flavor pre light than it did after I lit it up. If not then its just taking up space for now. This is my "have to try these" drawer. Usually singles that I am buying to give them a try and see if they are to my liking or not. There are a couple of "I need someplace to put these" drawer as well. This is my Fuente drawer... Pay no attention to the Oct 14 bands... those have been adjusted to reflect Sept (I had a moment). This is my special drawer. Padrons and Habanos (and a Liga that snuck in there. That will need to move up to the "have to try these" drawer). Pay no attention to the Oct 14 bands... those have been adjusted to reflect Sept (I had a moment).

Nah, your head is wayyyy bigger Ive been drinking Hoegarrden Weiss Beir with my cigars lately. Its nice on the pallet and doesn't discolor the taste of the cigars. Aside form that its usually a nice red wine. Ive never developed a pallet for good liquors.

I thought I was the experienced cigar smoker then I joined this forum called BOTL. Puts my 15 years of cigar smoking to shame and makes me look like I ride a tricycle. Some of these boys are insanely obsessive. I just want to be able to keep my smokes in a good environment and to be abel to store boxes and some good sticks.

Very nice set up and collection. If you are going to smoke em you may as well treat em with respect and get the most out of the cigars. I have a few of those Ramone Allones in my humidor where as yours seems to be totally alone.

Im working on it. I was heavy into cigars then in 07 the America came along and I was enjoying riding more than smoking. I still do BUT work has had me on a day/night schedule so my head isn't right for riding but I can smoke and thanks to my nephew and some friends Ive gotten back into it. Difference now is that I can afford a suitable storage system for my stogies.

I like Cubans and Cuba although their cigars are a little overpriced. I have some MC 5s (not from the band) left from last time there 4 years ago and a variety of street bought (there is leakage from the factories) but I am not particular to any one make or model. They import tobacco to make their cigars along with what is grown there so there is no reason why anyone can't make just as good a cigar but its from Cuba so it most be worth 50% more. My favourite is from a small Dominican Republic cigar maker near Punta Cana so when ever a friend is going there I get Heinke to deliver a box to their hotel which she is happy to do. Tax free makes for a really good smoke.

I agree, most Habamos are ok or on par with anything coming out of any other part of the world BUT none comes close to a Montecristo #2. That smoke has been and continues to be spectacular. Prices in Canada for those is down right criminal but Ive learned they can be ordered from dealers in other parts of the world for half the cost. Now if I could just grow some cash to purchase

Z Do you run the wine fridge or not. Cause i have one that the compressor died out on but if i could use it with out running it i think it would be a great trade off and save me a but ton of money.

I do only cause it gets warm in out little condo. We almost never have a need to run heat expect when it drops into the low 30s. If its a compressor fridge then you wouldn't want to use it for cooling anyway. From what Ive learned the compressor style fridges pull moisture form the air. The new(er) wine coolers are thermoelectric. They won't cool as low or as good and they are only good to a certain ration with the ambient temps.
There have been some folks that have converted non-working compressor style units into working humidors. Depending on size Ive seen either beads or active humidification systems and if temps rise then a cold pack at the bottom wrapped in a dish towel seem to be fine for those folks. Id say give it a shot. You got nothing to loose. Set it up and monitor it minus cigars for a week or two to see how it behaves.
