I want to clean up my handlebar controls similar to the deuk's. I bought thruxton clutch perch and brake perch/reservoir off of eBay. Does anybody know if any throttle assembly other than the British customs will work? I really like the Biltwell Whiskey throttle, but don't want to buy new cables if I can avoid it.

I thought Thruxtons had bars 7/8ths" in diameter OD? Ours are 1" OD.

You caught this faster than I did! I will be drilling the perches to increase the size from 7/8" to 1".

I have a set of modern Bonnie 7/8ths" set of bars you can have for shipping. I have been trying to give them away since I got them. They are as new, and look close to the Triumph, American Western bars from the 60-70 s.

Man, do not drill out the perch. Just buy a cheap Thruxton, Bonnie SE or Scrambler unit. Or just a throttle from any other bike and use the 7/8 Bars.

30 Bucks for a universal throttle compared to an unsafe bored out perch? Who buys cheap, buys twice...

I drilled out the perches and bought a biltwell whiskey throttle. I will take some pictures once installed

drilling out 1/8 of aluminum is the end the world and most defiantly kill you and you neighbors children!!!

I've done it a hand full of times, the guys i work with that build bikes have done it, go for it.

an another note, i did the exact same thing, but i need to use the throttle tube too so i have to swap to 7/8 bars..
