First off, if the subject meaning eludes you, open your paper maps...
Seriously, this applet is how one takes a route from google maps and converts it to a gpx file which is importable into a zumo or other, more up to date garmin motorcycle gps devise.
with recent changes to google maps, it seems this applet no longer works.
Had to download Bluemoon.
Here is the post that solved my problem.
Quote:
I just installed Pale Moon and the current (github) bookmarklet works
Installation notes;
Installed Pale Moon in Windows 8.1 64bit
Installed the 32bit version of Pale Moon
Installed Pale Moon in a “non default” directory (i.e. c:\bhApps\PaleMoon)
Installed “as administrator”
As posted, “classic” maps loads by default
I tested using “drag modified” custom routes
The original (elsewhere.org) bookmarklet DOES NOT work
The current (github) bookmarklet works
I closed and restarted Pale Moon and ran another route to confirm
All route turnpoints are included in the gpx as originally designed… not just the “dragpoints” as was the case in another alternative site suggestion made several weeks ago.

And lastly the link to it Convert Google Maps Data to GPX's web blog
Notes: this applet did not work for me using Win 8.1 with either Chrome, Firefox, or InternetExplorer. Once I followed Beverly's path, The applet worked fine.
