A few months ago I got a set of Kuryakyn ISO grips (6236) for my 07 TBA. I tried to install them but there was no way to get enough slack on the cables by just using the cable adjusters. So I shelved them for another day.

Well that day is here. I am finally changing pipes (couldn't stand the stock pipes anymore) and making all the mods I've been planning since I got the bike early last season.

I guess what I'm looking for is some guidance or tips for getting these grips on.

Am I going to have to disconect the cables a the carb end?
Move the carbs?

Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance for any help

When I replaced my grips I had to gain all the slack I could from both ends of the cables, not just at the top. A little difficult as there is not much room at the carbs/throttle bodies. Do not get in a hurry and there should be JUST enough slack.
I also would suggest a throttle boss or 2. I put one on the throttle grip and after the first extended ride I got another for the left hand. Made highway travel easier not "gripping" the bar but rather holding or palming the bars in place for those long boring interstate miles.

Gotter done. Wasn't that bad but, like you said there's not a lot or room down there. You're right about just enough cable slack after backing off top and bottom of cables. I took it for a test ride and have to say I love them. Well worth the effort and thanks for your help.

Nice going on the ISO grips. I LOVE that they are fat compared to stock grips. Much less fatigue on the hands.
