I just bought a used GoPro Hero in mint condition for $80. I think I got a smoking deal on it. I could use tips on how to use it as it didn't come with the manual. I'd sure appreciate tips and advise from anyone using a GoPro. I hear they're pretty amazing.

I don't have one. I lost it when I saw a couple of guys visiting my corner using their GoPro. One had it on a stick and did about 50x 360s on different spots of the beach... watching made me feel dizzy! The other had it strapped to his head and doing stupid tricks... Please don't do that! Just hook it to your bike and let us enjoy some mountain passes from your corner of the world! PS. Sorry, no help... I don't have one but there may be some manuals from their website?

I like mine, it takes great video, it's just not the most user friendly, especially when you're on a bike and trying to get it started while on the move. The newest one out has a screen on the back so you know when it's filming and what the settings are. I usually have to get mine set up, then take it off and check it on the computer to make sure it's positioned right, then get it on the bike again. Or use a chest or helmet mount.
Always remember to be yourself. Unless you suck. Then pretend to be someone else.

Take some test videos and experiment with editing and uploading. Those will be your biggest hurdles. Once you have that under control its a matter of finding the right mount. Short and solid is what works best. Anything more than 4" long allows the camera to bounce too much. I really liked the RAM mounts.

I have been wanting to get one. I like watching videos that are chest mounted the best. The helmet mount is to much head bobbing around and the bar mounts don't move enough to get feel of the ride. I do like the rear facing ones when people are with other riders. Have you watched any of the MotVlogs? There are some good ones.

Thanks for all your tips, tricks and experienced replies, guys. The jury is still out on this GoPro. No screen to preview, no backside indicator lights. Crappy small screen and menu system. Takes AMAZING images and video, mind you. Still playing with the dang thing.

I have always thought that if I had a camera, I would be strapping it to a mirror if I were to video a ride. I think you would get a better feel of the motorcycle movement from there.
