I was listening to some guys talk about statements that we make today, that would have made no sense 20 years ago. I'll google it. I have angry birds on my phone. Take a selfie. I'll text you.
I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.

I just think its interesting how our lexicon changes from one generation to the next.

You mean: "...used to have this on their door."?
(...I guess correct spelling is a thing of the past too, eh Chad?...sorry, couldn't resist)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Damn, forgot to proof read, again.
But, if it takes some mal grammar to drag you into the discussion, then I'll be your huckleberry. Lol
Ha! See what I did there? I used an out dated phrase and a new speak term in one statement.
only I crack myself up like that.

What I meant to say was, .....used to have on the door.
My phone jumps to conclusions and I fail to proof read.

So with that I do have a question of phraseology. Is it correct to weigh in on a subject or wade in?

If our lexicon didn't change we would still be using that California speak with words like "Knarly" and "Dude" and we all know there is only one "Dude" albeit I always "Hang Ten" when pounding out these messages.

That has a chip in it. That used to mean it was broken as in that glass has a chip in it but now it more often refers to a microchip.

Yep we call em Jandels. Story is that a Kiwi "Invented" them and branded them as Jandels. Now name is used for all that sort of footware.

When I first started going out with Fiona I still had some LP's and she was in the shed one day when one side finished playing and I asked her to 'Put the other side on'...She had no idea what I was talking about.

Oh, I dunno Ron. I still TO THIS DAY sometimes think of THAT very saying when I read some of the threads around this place.
