Not a good year with my bike. My turn signals and brake light don't work. When I put in a new fuse then turn on the signal it blows the fuse right away. I pulled the rear wiring harness and tried again. Same thing. Fuse blows right away with the turn signal switch turned on. I have an electrical tester but don't know what to do now? Test the switch? Is this tied to the brake? I checked the brake bulb-all ok. I have a running light. Thoughts? Ideas? Thanks

Check where the wires go into the headlight, sounds like you have a short. If nothing at the headlight just look anywhere a likely short may happen.

Ian's right. Look for any chafe points for the wiring. Along with the headlight mount, I'd check under the rear fender and where the wires go into the turn signals but you stated you pulled the rear harness. Check the wiring going to the front lights. Sometimes they are tucked tightly into the hand grip mounts and can chafe/short there. Wires at the switch, one could have broken off and is grounded.
You may have to follow the wires from one end of the bike to the other. Really not that hard, just time consuming.
If the visual check of the signal wires doesn't help, I would get a small self resetting circuit breaker that can plug into the affected fuse port and test with that. The breaker will trip and reset while you handle the wires with the signals on. As you move wires around, the breaker will stop tripping. The last point touched is usually where the problem is.
I've also placed one of those cheap super small compasses over the wires as the breaker is tripping. If you are between the power source and the shorted area, the compass will deflect as the breaker powers up. Move to the other side of the short and it doesn't move. You've found your problem area.

I never heard of that compass trick, that's pretty cool.
