Does anyone have personal experience on these tires? I'm considering them because the price at 4 wheel online is very enticing. Just curious about their performance on dry and wet roads. Also, how many miles did you get out of these tires? Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks.

The 880 is a good tire and holds well in all weather. No experience with the Avon. I just bought another IRC Wild Flare though that I like as much as the 880. Spent $115.99 on it with free shipping. Wild Flare

I have the Avons. A Venom on the rear and a Roadrider on the front. Happy with my choice so far, but not that many miles on them. I was looking specifically for a reliable rain tire. I hate rain. Durability wasn't that important. Tires are still cheaper than skin grafts.

Thank you for the inputs, guys! I just placed my order for a set of ME880's. Now, I just need to wait a few days.

I have avon venoms front and back on my speedmaster. awesome tires, very sticky. better in the rain than the ME 880 or the OEM lazertecs. Can say as to the mileage they will go as I just put them on this spring.
05 speedmaster - 1100cc, 11:1 racing pistons, Carillo rods, thunderbike cams, ported and polished head, 2mm over intake and exhaust valves, Barnett kevlar clutch, scepter pipes, oversize manifolds, 45mm HSR's, TTP stage 4 firestarter

I put the Avon Roadrider on the front two years ago awesome grip but I am noticing that they are already scalloping just left of centre with maybe 12,000 km. That may be normal for the softer compound vs the Lazertecs which lasted 3 seasons or about 18,000 kms before that was noticed. Maybe I have been making too many left hand turns and should find a different route.

Lots of rubber left on the tire but worn on left (right in photo) inflated to Triumphs recommended level for two up. I also over estimated kms I would say it is closer to 9500.

Funny thing about that is that it has more to do with the crown in the roads you ride on than turning.

I found this on the Triumph rat.net web site makes an for interesting read. http://www.rattlebars.com/tirewear/index.html
After reading this perhaps we should set up a tire exchange with those that drive on the left side and perhaps can save all of us a good dollar/pound. Yah, ok there are over 40 more countries that drive on the left that use other denominations

I was running low on pressure due to a bad gauge fortuneately it did not affect the rear very much. That and the effect of driving on the right and that Avon may have a shorter then normal life. Still like it just did 200km on back roads.
