Picked it up last Friday, and drove it to work for the first time this morning. Only 2900 miles on the clock


I'm starting to really like the peashooters. Gives it that Classic Triumph sound


Are VDO speedo and tach stock with the 2012?




I also like the risers. Gives me a bit more pullback


The Progressive shocks are nice as well


All in all, I'm thrilled to be back on a Speedy. Have a few items on order for it that should arrive this week. Going to put a Corbin Classic Solo seat with a backrest on it too. When I brought it home, my wife came out to look at it and then went straight inside and gathered up her riding gear. Guess I'll need to get a more comfortable pillon setup as well.

The pea shooters are they standard on that year model or are they aftermarket?

I like the pipes.It suits the old style pipes.

Thanks Guys! The peashooters are definitely add-ons. Still not 100% sure about them. They sound awesome, but I might have to "acquire the taste" as far as the looks. I agree, they do give it an "old school" look. I'll have to post a video of how they sound.
I'm not much of a 'chromeboy' so I will start minimizing the shiny stuff. I know it's not really practical to remove ALL chrome, but I will definitely reduced the percentage of it.
Fork gaitors are in the mail.
I'll definitely need to find a better seat. On my way home from work yesterday (35 miles) my tailbone started talking to me. Seems the more-forward riders position on the newer Speedys is causing me some issues. Just have to figure out what seat and where to get it. I'm not looking for Lazy-boy recliner comfort, but the pressure on my tailbone is really causing a problem. Spinal arthritis and two ruptured disks ain't something to mess with.
Any suggestions/advice is greatly appreciated.

I see you've ordered a Corbin seat.I have the Corbin on my America and I strongly recommend it.I can use the backrest or for short hops leave the backrest off.I have tail bone/back problems too and it allows me to keep doing what I love which is riding.

If you happen to find out what brand the peashooter mufflers are let us know will you? They could be stock Triumph with modified pipes.

Beautiful bike - (I have the same a red 2012) but with standard pipes. Any idea where the pea shooters came from? I love the look having seen it a few other places and would like to get some but have yet to see anyone mention a source.

Well, I finally made a quick video to show what the pipes sound like. Use a good sound system or headphones to listen. Sounded reall 'tinny' on my laptop speakers, but with headphones the sound is very close to reality.....

Have you found out what brand they are yet?

Nope. There is no indication of manufacturer or model #. I haven't removed one and really inspected it yet, but a cursory look yields no reward.

Another little vid I shot this morning. Compares the exhaust sound with baffles in and out. I decided to keep the baffles in because there is a "Tinny Harmonic Sound" when riding down the road with the baffles out.

I still love those pipes!

They are mini footboards mounted on aluminum stock. Bought them off a guy from T-Rat forum. Actually, he was the original owner of the bike.
They give more foot placement options whilst cruising, but will take some getting used to.
