The one bike is famous for starting and running on one.The other never missed a beat untill the other day after giving it a quick splash to get the mostly dust off.Changed coils and wires,no change.A while later started right up,running on two .Took it out for a boot and it went back to one.Started it later and has been running on two ever since.

same here, rode it in moderate rain, started running crappy, got a ProCom and it fixed it. The igniters are sensitive to moisture .

True but doesn't always mean it is bad, mine did that a couple times in the driving rain coming home from Niagara, got it restarted both times and got home. Haven't had a problem with it since. That trip was 2 maybe 3 years ago, maybe longer, can't remember anymore.

Buy a Tbird like everyone else then mail those tins to me so they can get shown off on a running bike this year.

Rain or shine, mine will run fine for 10-30 miles then the left cylinder stops firing. After another 5-10 miles, it'll start firing again. It's intermittent and frustrating.
Last night the left carb was drained to check for trash or water. None to be found. I'm not in the position to start replacing coils and the cdi hoping to fix it. Wish there was a definitive way to track down the problem.
Didn't buy into the hype, you can keep the change.

Marty, I went back and read this. I didn't realize both bikes were effected. Odd that both CDIs would be bad but it's certainly a possibility. I'm thinking getting a replacement (only one for now) is something you should consider. This will allow you to verif both bikes. If you deem that both CDIs have taken a crap then use the stock mapped on in Nancy's bike and get one with a performance based map for yours.

Had the cdi problem about 10 months ago. I would intermittenly drop the the left cylinder and it is was always only the left cylinder. I swapped the plug wires and coils and the left cylinder would still cut out, so I knew it wasn't the coil or plug wire. Bought a Pro Com and put it on and haven't had a problem since.

I have a ttp igniter comming.A very generous member offered and sent me a procom to try out.Boom fired right to life,as it did with the old igniter.Changed the coils back to nology and used the stock wires as the nology fell apart in my hand removing the coil end(I hate when that happens)Still runs on two,for now.I never did take the bike out to try the procom, all I know is that it did work on both cylinders.Been doing alot of reading on here about the procom. On this site the consensus seems to be that other than a few starting issues its fine, but go to an ATV site and read there, they claim that they are wreaking there engines. For now,I'm glad I opted for the ignitech/pieman/TTP igniter.I'll let you know more later.
