First off I have no affiliation with this company, just think it is a great cost effective oiler. I was searching for an oiler for a while and at the end of the day couldn't justify the high cost of a Scottoiler. I found the Motobriiz one on ebay. I contacted mike Steele the inventor of it and had an ongoing discussion with him about suitability for the Speedmaster. He designed it to sit almost flat under the seat but on the Speedy there is not enough room for it there. After talking to Mike I decided it could mount vertically under the right side cover. I went ahead and purchased two (one for my wife's Bonnie as well). Got two including shipping to NZ for $140.85NZ. They arrive pretty quick (about two weeks). I have one now mounted one the Speedmaster. I pretty much changed the way it all mounts due to the speedmaster having the chain on the right.I didn't want to use the pad applicator that came with the set as it needs replacing periodically and didn't want that hassle. Initially I had the delivery hose aimed at the rear sprocket and lower part of the chain. Worked fine except the long delivery hose meant excess oil when stopped and the oil would run onto the tire. What I did was to make up a brush applicator that is mounted above the chain through the front sprocket cover. Seems perfect now. As can be seen in the pics the chain was pretty dirty but is already showing signs of being cleaned by the brush and oil being applied. Have only done a couple of hundred k's so far but is all good I think. Am off on a road trip this weekend and will prob cover around 1500-2000km's, will update how it is all going on Monday. Home made brush from a dust pan brush set. Brush assembly mounted to the sprocket cover. Drilled a hole just big enough for brush and pipe to fit through and secured it in place with a cable tie top and bottom. Brush sitting nicely on the chain. Chain looking nicely oiled all though quite dirty, but the signs are there that it is slowly getting cleaned as well as oiled. Will update as time goes by. Have to say that Mike at Motobriiz is just about one of the nicest guys you will ever find to deal with. Most helpful to me concidering the Speedmaster/america is not listed as one of the bikes this fits.

It is about 50mm long, the bristles just flex back the other way. The actual unit is really well made. For $55 odd US dollars its very good value for money.

Well after a weekend away and traveling a little under 900km's I have to say I am very impressed with the oiler. The chain now has a nice clean film of oil on it and is just about completely clean as well. The back wheel is a little dirty due mainly to a lot of old greasy chain lube build up being removed and flung onto the wheel. Once cleaned off I think the wheel will stay a lot cleaner now. Only thing I plan on changing is the type of oil used. Initially I just used some new engine oil but will change to a 90w gear oil with the aim of slowing down the flow rate a little. Great little device for the price.

Wind Powered. Doesn't use a vacuum port. Where did you mount the inlet tube? Motobriiz

I mounted it underneath the headlight bucket. Will take a photo tomorrow (10.30pm here). Am thinking of moving the mount to the steering neck by the tunnel of the tank. It will be much neater just a bit concerned about weather there is enough air flow there.

Right here are some photos of the air intake mount and also of my nice clean wheel and chain. The wheel and chain have just been cleaned although the chain took very little effort compared to the wheel. I'm coming up to calving time here so my mileage won't be great for the next couple of months but once I clock up another 1000k's or so will post a pic of the wheel and chain as it is at that time. I wrapped the clear air hose in black tape so that it stood out less against the frame. Nice clean wheel and chain. When viewed as a whole the whole system is barely visible. Upon reflection I think I will leave the set up as is and wait and see if people even notice its there as it all works so well as is.

Thankyou. She's my baby alright. On a side note, I fitted a new chain today as the old one was starting to require far to frequent an adjustment. Will be interesting to see the life I get out of it now with the oiler in place, and no did not replace sprockets they are in very good shape. Have always worked on the principal that if chain is replaced soon enough sprockets last for a long time. Bought a new CBR100f back in '87 when they first came out. When I sold it 7 years later it had done 92,000km's and still had the original sprockets, I replaced the chain every 30,000 km's.

Ahhh... you forget just how nice a new chain runs and makes the bike feel. No more of that surging/ loose/tight feeling of a worn one. So, now will be interesting to see the life I get from this new chain with the oiler.

Ok, As promised an upate. Have now traveled a bit over 1200km's since the new chain went on and have not cleaned the bike in that time. The last 700km's have been done this weekend and in the pouring rain at times. The chain is still nicely oiled and clean. The rear wheel while definitely needing a clean isn't too bad at all. Very happy.

Huge waste of money on an X ring chain and needless mess.

Much less mess than spray lube. Still need to lube for chain to sprocket contact.

I have proven you do not need to lube with an X ring. I think lube actually gives dirt something to stick to causing more wear.

I think you're right (based on personal experience).

not gonna lie, I got so tired of my back wheel being a mess from flung lube that I just gave up putting anything on it a couple years ago
