Hi guys! what you think about this style of exhaust? http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/images/HH-65-980_300.jpgI believe they will look great with a pipe extension but what about the sound? Has anyone tried this before? I think i saw somewhere in the forum a guy who had photoshoped his bike with this kind of muffler but i can't find it.

I've seen some others do this before, I wish I could find the picture of one in particular and they looked great. They put some extensions on them. Put up some pics if you do it.

I will do if i make the decision... can't make up my mind.I'm between this style and the cocktail shakers.Cocktails seems to be the safest way since i love the sound but not so fun of that look. well....tough decisions:)

Today i received my new set of mufflers. I went with the cocktail shakers at the end. They are like the emgo bell ends, if not the same, with the same baffles and all, like these http://www.shop.modernmotorcyclecompany.com.au/products/muffler-cocktail-shaker-tulip-end-chromeThe thing is that they are so damn loud for my taste! Any idea on how to quiet down a bit? Wrapping the baffles with fiberglass?or change them? Put some kind of Tip Exhaust Silencer to reduce the outlet size? please any help will be appreciated.

yup those puppies are always pretty loud, you could try packing them , wrap the inserts and maybe stuff them a bit, i know a few guys in here do that, wait for them to chime in with decent mediums to use, i use to use fibreglass etc but it would always eventually get blown out the back end as it broke down. Otherwise you could always invest in a decent set of pipes that you can hear on U-Tube and get feed back on in here.

Did you wrap and wire the outside of the baffles with exhaust fiberglass? Your website shows included baffles and suggests just that, to lower the DB s.

I plan to do this today and check the results. Do i need to wrap the baffle all the way from the outside or leave about an inch unwrapped to let the gas pass through? as you can see in the picture the hole in the baffle is very small.

I would wrap the entire length of the outside of the baffles. Get yourself some small diameter stainless wire from the women's crafter type store or stainless safety wire from a bearing house for tying the fiberglass on. If you can, find something that mirrors the inside diameter (a round ring or a soup can with both end cut out, whatev) of your pipes for a gauge to assure that you won't destroy your handiwork with the wool and wires when you insert the baffle. I think you will be pleased with the results, if you found your pipes too loud now. BTW, that small diameter opening you mentioned is necessary for low end torque. You can always ream it out larger later on, if you feel the need to.

Well...update. Trying to wrap the baffle and then put it inside the muffler is IMPOSSIBLE!The diameter size of the baffle is enough to fit perfect inside the muffler until the "bell end".So there is no room for the fiberglass. Also tried to cut horizontally the baffle and then squeeze it to reduce the size with no success and stopped before make further damage. What i did was to put back the baffle on the muffler and then stuffed with fiberglass from the back with a help of a stick until the end of the baffle.Simple as that. Not sure if it's the right way and i hope not to push the engine or so,but the job was done. Put them on and tested.Absolutely awesome! The sound level reduced almost to the half.Nice sound on idle, not annoying on cruising speed and whenever i want i can be loud enough.
