hello all, last year i bought a set of Hagon Classic II, i was swayed by Britishcustoms.com my original plan was progressives in from and back. i had heard mixed reviews on the Hagons; but i was assured they were good shocks. i had to send this set back once already because they were very very noisy, now when i ride two up and crank them up all the way it is so stiff i knocked my rear rim out of true on a beruit style pothole in DC on Memorial Day. so anyway, i am thinking of getting a set of heavy duty progressives; but a very respected buddy is saying that the Hagons are better shocks than the 412? what is the general consensus? i know a lot of you guys like to crack wise; but please i really just want some facts to go on here so i don't have to pay to have my rear rim relaced again. rider weight 220lbs passenger 135lbs.

Hagon Vs. Progressive

I like Hagon shocks, no personal experience with the progressives.Hagon builds them to your specifications. If you hit a hole big enough to knock the wheel out of true chances are it wouldn't matter what shocks you have.

i bought the 2810's with 10 click dampening and 3 click spring preload. I like them a great deal (mine are the ones that are covered 3/4 with shroud. The only think i don;t like about them is the pre-load, they are a real bugger to turn, i need to use the c spanner with a leverage bar to get them to move, other than that they are quite, the customer support is excellent and the price is still pretty decent.

According to the candidates, looks like you've already made your choice

I don't know about the Classic II but the Hagon Nitros are excellent. Not at all noisy.

I replaced my Progressive 412s with Hagon 2810s and it was a nice improvement. Both are a major improvement over the stockers.

not to side track this discussion but Ikon makes some good stuff for these bikes. I have used shocks from hagon, progressive and ikon. I was not as impressed by the progressive.

If you go Progressive then 440 or 444 is the way to go. Don't even bother with the 412's...although they are better than OEM, they aren't even close to the 440's or 444's.
