I've realized that I have to have it set on 5 in the summer and 6 in the winter.
'06 America, Raask foot controls, the bike use to be Graphite and Silver, now its Red and Black.

If it were mounted in a better place you could tune it running with the little screwdriver

I just set the dial to the number that corresonded to the one on my stock cdi. My scoot has been running great for the last 8 months since.

OK, looks like #7. Now my question is the mounting plate, how do I transfer it to the new igniter? Are the plastic rivets salvageable or do I trash them and put new bolts in there ?

reuse the plastic rivets
OK ! Or some 3M body moulding tape. That's some strong stuff.

I used bolts and nuts on the ones I've installed

it would be great if somebody came up with an extension cable to do that. under the seat would be good. The igniter is in a terrible place even to plug the USB into it. Not to mention the heat issue that wreck the CDIs.
any electrical guys on here up for the challenge?

upon further inspection, it appears that once mounted, there is access to the dial with a tiny flat head and a bright light

Dunno for sure but I wouldn't change the settings while the bike is running... some are for 360 engines. I don't know what that might do but don't think I would chance it.

The plastic rachet style rivets are meant for onetime use. I just replaced mine on my 06 America. ONe of the rivet busted during removal but managed to salvage one rivet. However the new procom CDI is thicker than the stock OEM CDI and the old rivet wasn't long enough (1/2 inch) to hold. Electrical tape will suffice for the time being but I have some new longer (3/4 inch) rivets on order at Grainger. $4 for a pack of 10.

Has anyone tried using the various maps (via usb) after setting the blue dial? I plan to but am first trying to chase down if I have other electrical issues going on. Actually, first I have to build a deck, then I can work on the bike. Still looking for comments on this thread if anyone has any thoughts to offer: http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com/forums/...ge=0#Post628271
