I found a decent deal on a corbin seat. Will an 08 seat fit the 06 America? It is a brown alligator leather seat. Can it be dyed black and still look good? What type of dye product should I use? And finally has anyone done this?

Yes, they should. I'd first check out how it looks in brown. So many bikes have put brown seats on and I've been impressed. On dying them black, I'd ask a leather or upholstery shop. It may be better to uncover them and dye them versus trying to do it topically.

yes you should be good, but i don't think the dye job will work on the brown seat unless you took it in to a leather shop and even then i am not sure they would guranteee it. And brent is right sometimes they (brown) look really good on black, blue, green ete bikes.

I also like the look of the brown and probably even prefer it. The problem is that I already have a black corbin backrest, black pillion and a black sissybar pad. I don't think that it would all look good together with the different colors.

I hear ya on wanting to match the seat with the black you already have. Get a hold of Corbin and tell them what you want. I sense they will accommodate you to get what you want. Hey, it's only a phone call... what can it hurt?

I already contacted corbin and the rep that I talked to said she never had a call concerning the dyeing of their seat. I pulled the trigger and bought it and ordered some dye from Amazon. When I finish I will post some pictures.
