Hey,

I love the look of my Bonneville America but I'm wondering whether it is possible to get a fatter wheel and/or bigger rim in the back. I'd like to know 2 things:

What is the fattest tire size you can go with on the stock wheel?
What is the limiting factor in changing to a bigger wheel with a thinner tire?

My inspiration is the bike here: http://www.newspeedmaster.com/html/free_spirits_fenders.html but I'm wondering whether I could just get a fat wheel wheel and chop the stock rear fender at a shop. Any help is appreciated thanks.

Avon used to have a comprehensive PDF page that showed all the workable possibilities for Tires/Rims but apparently they took it down. Liability? I should have printed it off when I had the chance, my bad.

But you could also go the way of a Thunderbird Sport (T 300s) wheel-conversion.

But: Fatter wheels do not make it more rideable. Better way ist to use a stock Tiger rearwheel from the first 900 series with a 3.00 rim. Big improvement for riding...

Thx ryk, but the hub is my problem perhaps my bike is model 2011 without spokes! Now, i want other wheels , next prob the german tüv ....

I suspect the rear hub will fit as well as the brake rotor, you would need an America spoke front to have a match. I have a Thunderbird Sport front which comes with a 3.5 x 17 inch rim on my fat tire bike mounted up with a 130/90-17 which balances out the fat look. Save money and try before you buy, is my best advice.
