While in Ga this yr I got to looking at my front tire, it's not totally gone but close enough to get a new one. Looking at the Michilin ( been running metzlers since new ) I like the tread pattern seems like it should be better than laser tech and we are comming into our rainy season here and was never really happy with that tire in the rain. So I was wondering if anybody has tried the Michilin yet and what they think? I think I am getting fair deal (130) so will prob just go ahead and pull trigger?
ENJOY!!!!! NEWT!!!!!

Myke, I'm a Metz man as well but just put a set of Michelins on the Tbird. Many Tbird owners complained about the Metz short life on the Burd. When I bought the bike it had 7200 mikes on it and the original Metz were toast So far so good on the Michelins, don't think you can go wrong with that brand. The America needs tires as well, damn this hobby is getting real expensive

Chy and moe say running higher pressure in the metzs (41/42) yields much better milage. I'm giving it a try after having to replace the stock set after 7k.
Tire experiments can be fun ... go for it newt!

I have the Michelin Commander front and rear. Amazing tires. 10,000 so far on the rear and still looks almost new. Only about 3000 on the front so far but very happy with the grip and feel.

My front metz880 has 21735 miles on it. Installed 6/10/2012. Yes, I need a new front tire and am thinking about the Michelin. I've sworn off old tires, yet I'm led to believe that Metz still manufactures the me880 for the front wheel?

Holy crap, I was happy to get 14,000 out of a set and I check tire pressures almost every ride. That is fantastic Jim.

I got the new metzler 888. They are replacing the 880 with this. Different tread and sidewall. Like them so far, better wind and rain traction. As somebody told me-man you ride in the worst weather. I'd say 750-1000 miles on them.

Got tire on today blew 2 tubes before I realized it was rusty wheel causing the problem. First time the tire wouldn't seat so put more air in and pow ok my bad to much air lol second time tire seated ok sort of but when it did pow again WTF ? Took tire completely off this time and looked close OMG the rust that had built up was crazy ! Ripped off rubber strip and with wire cleaning wheel in drill, cleaned it up nicely went and got last tube that guy had and reinstalled everything ahh so far so good. Took for ride and I think tire feels good went thru some simple twisties in a sprinkle road was just damp and it seemed good ? Time will tell ? If any issues with tire will let ya'll know
ENJOY!!!!! NEWT!!!!!
