Couldn't stand obsessing about it any longer. I went ahead and bit the bullet for the the Corbin Solo in Indian Brown. As much as I want the backrest, I can't believe it's nearly the same cost as the seat! But in a mere three weeks it will be mine....oh yes...it will be mine!

Congrats Tbanga, I had the seat of mine done in the Indian brown and the surround done in black... I think the brown really sets the bike apart IMHO... We can compare them at the Ga rally.... My seat came in around ten days by the way, so hopefully yours will get to you quickly. The only problem I have is with the bracket. On the speedie, it does not cover all three holes where it attaches to the fender. See my gallery for pics... Ride safe... Gordon

Won't that clean up Gordon?

How about a couple of plastic buttons for now?

Even better, how about a fender bib from Brent, like this one:

Isn't this the same problem that I had? I believe Wojo came to the rescue by suggesting a swap of the stock bracket for the Corbin bracket. Worked like a charm for me if I remember correctly.

Boy, they're making a fortune off of us aren't they. Someone should contact them about putting a banner or link to their site to help pay for ours?

Phil. don't tell me you have anything better to do than read my posts.... when I described my purchase and pictures of the seat a couple of weeks ago, I said I had ordered the flame solo bib from Brent..... still waiting after four weeks... he had to get the back from the platers and then went on spring break... I think it is the mail now. My point was I would think that Corbin would design the bracket to cover the holes. The rep said if I send him pics he would have one fabricated for me. So I am procrastinating still getting him those pics.... noone to blame but me... but I love the seat.... Gordon

Guess that means I can blame you too!! lol
Of course it gives me a good reason to order some new mints!! err.. I mean a fender bib, or luggage rack, can't decide which one I want.

Cheers
Wendell

Wendell, I had the same quandry... fender bib or seat rack, seat rack or fender bib.... I decided I would buy the bib for now and have the option of the rack at a later date... would take about ten seconds to change out... depending on which one went with my outfit .... ride safe....Gordon

Larry,
When I ordered my Corbin seat back in late August I got it in 2 weeks. Not sure if it was just because of the time of year but I was very pleased.

Well I have to say that my experience with Corbin is first rate. Eleven days from the date of order until I got the seat today. Looks very nice and I will try it for fit tomorrow...in the middle of re-jetting at the present moment, so it will have to wait.
I am impressed though with the speed of delivery.

Man, I hate being one of those "me too" posts... but, ordered up a solo Corbin last week, looking forward to it, Think I am going with the rack option rather then the bib.... but, truely think that I should have BOTH!!!! depending on mood, of course...

You would think. Since I put the stock bracket on the bike, I forgot to complain. I have a fender bib, a Triumph solo rack, and I am thinking of adding Brent's rack. I have no idea why or than I am greedy and a little foolish. Oh, and the new pillion bolt, and a new Triumph sweatshirt. Then it will be on to the anniversary and Christmas lists.....

I guess Brent's ears must have been ringing. When I got home today, there was a box waiting for me from New Bonneville. Got my new flame fender bib, nology spark plug wires, carb screws, oil change kit, a couple of N.B. stickers AND mints!!!! I was supposed to get the first black Union Jack cable retainer, I searched the box over and over like a kid at Christmas.... but alas no cable retainer... no worries, Brent didn't charge me for it either.... I guess he just wants me to wait a little longer to build up the suspense. The items I received are of course top quality, the bib looks great on the bike ( I will post pics soon ) and did I mention those MINTS???? A big thank you to Brent for excellent products and service..... ride safe....Gordon

Gordon,

One thing we can't say about newspeedmaster.com is that they can't pack for shipping! My stuff was packed tight. Took me a while to get past the bubble wrap and to displace all the foam rings. MAW's could stand to send their shipping department to Texas for some lessons on how to pack from Brent and crew.

How sweet it is to receive that first of a line.

Me too. Couldn't stand it anymore and figured it is really an "investment" for my long rides this year.

I was thinking black sides w/brown or grey inside but my teenagers said just stick w/black!!

I will need to steal a line I saw in another recent post "Honey, I thought I told you?" or maybe get the box opened before she gets home from work!!

That's the beauty of having getting the black one..."No, that's the same seat that has always been on there!".

It took a week to get mine. The hot-pink flames really set it off.

we should do this every weekend!

I wasn't happy with the way my Corbin came from the factory initially (apparently a bit of a production fluke), but I sent it back this winter for a free rework and now I love it. Saturday morning I spend about an hour to an hour-and-a-half riding around the Helena area without getting off my bike and I didn't feel even the tiniest bit of discomfort. On the stock seat I definitely would have been feeling some discomfort.

I should add that I originally bought the Corbin for the backrest. My test ride on Saturday was without the backrest.

They just redid the foam. They reused the seat pan and leather.

Seeing as I spent that much money on it, you would think I would be forced to say: "Yeah, It's great!" .........

Even if it was more, it would be worth it. Stock saddle and position caused pain from sitting on my sacrum and coccyx.... Corbin, with it's modifications allows me to sit properly. Prviously, I could ride about an hour and then it would be hard to walk.... now I can ride for hours and not even notice when I get off..... well worth it... Is Triumph listening?.....
