Hi everyone My wife has a 2010 america and we are tossing the idea around about putting a batwing on it for her. Anyone done this already? Anyone have pics of their america with a batwing. Right now she has a triumph windshield and is getting some buffeting. On heavy straight on winds unbearable, it actually gives her a headache, and yes I know if we put on lowers it will help with this, but right now we are just tossing around ideas, so if I can show her some bikes with the batwing she can decide if she likes it or not, without dropping a bunch of cash to find out she doesn't. Thanks SaltyDog

We did have someone do this a couple of years back. I can't remember who, but there were a lot of pictures and discussion about the project. Start with the Search feature and maybe someone else will chime in with a name. Here's one thread; http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com/forums/...true#Post498865I guess it was longer than a couple years ago. Looks like member Bill did one back in 08/09, but the pics aren't popping up for me. Search the forum back in that era and you'll get some info that may help you out.

not to many people have done it, but they are out there. I noticed that our friend Eddy is now selling a detach fairing that will apparently fit our bikes, looks nice too. http://www.fasteddysports.com/?page_id=3&product_id=538He would not say that it was workable if it were not but you might want to give him an e-mail and get the word from him. The one he has is made by a dcent company and also can include speakers etc. click on the picture of it for other pictures.

Thanks for the replies guys, She actually doesn't want a stereo or anything, just a basic fairing. Seen a really cool looking one on ebay that fits the sportster/nighster custom. Looks good, not overly large and has some style. Now the next question can we fab some brackets to make it work, because I can't find any info on how it mounts.
I got a feeling this is going to be quite the project is we decide to go forward with it. SaltyDog

Salty, reach out to Fast Eddy, he's currently working on a fairing setup for the Thunderbirds from Memphis Shades. So yes, It's doable. Couple of questions, the shield she has is the angle adjustable? Is it the Triumph shield, I've found those to be unfriendly. Secondly, what helmet? A full coverage will help tremendously.

She has a triumph shield,, no it's not adjustable, I can't remember what it's called but it's not the quick release one. As for her helmet, Shoei RF1100, so she's good there.
Right now we are just bashing around some ideas as to what to do, see what is possible, and maybe fiind some cool pics to see if she's interested.
Thanks for the input

Not a batwing, but here's another option if she decides she wants to stay with the current look, but get a little more protection. http://www.clearviewshields.com/There are as many windshield opinions as there are riders and probably almost as many threads on this site. Good luck in your quest.
