Hi everyone...
Looking for some opinions...narrowed my tire choices down to the ME888 for the rear and "either" the Lasertec for the front, *or* the ME880. Both available for the front tire and comparable in price.
...gave some thoughts to an Avon combination, but read some concerns about them in places where it gets far below freezing when the bikes are stored for the winter.
Any thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks!

My America came with the LaserTec on the front new, ME880 rear. Let the dealer talk me into the LaserTec as the first front replacement. Next time I put the ME880 on the front. Felt better, more sure footed feedback from the front 880 than the 2 previous LTs. Got about 12K miles on them both, have that now on the front 880 and there is still mileage left. I will get another ME880 front when the time comes. Don't have any experience with the Avon tires but they do have good reviews on the web. Don't know about "far below freezing" as it does get below freezing here but it doesn't stay that way long.
09 America, some modifications

I have the Michelin Commander II on the rear and really like it, good in wet or dry conditions, seems to be wearing well. As far as front goes, I'm trying an Avon RoadRider this go round, only have a couple hundred miles on it right now so not much to report

...adding to this thread for anyone's future benefit. I ended up choosing ME 888 in the rear and ME 880 in the front. After 1500 miles on them I have had no issues and can definitely report that small cracks in the road do not "grab" the front wheel like the stock front tire used to. Hard to explain what that felt like ----but it was definitely "squirrelly" if that makes sense. None of that now.

Last year Speedmasters dumped the Lazertech in favour of the ME 880 in a slightly different aspect. I put an Avon (at a different bike dealer) on the front as the service guy at local Triumph dealer said he would make me sign a waiver if I changed the recommended tire size. Three weeks later the Speedmaster arrived with the very tire I wanted. Mentioned this to the sales staff, still concider him to thick to appreciate the obvious.
