Well,the other day I changed my Facebook password because of the whole Heartbleed thing, and now FB says I'm entering the wrong password. Fine, but the password recovery process at FB is beyone assinine! I tried having a code sent to my phone, no luck, never have gotten anything. And, I don't have access to my Yahoo mail account any more that I used to set up FB with, so can't use that to reset the account, so I was asked to enlist trusted friends to set up and send me security codes. I thought I'd select my Mom and sister since they were the easiest to reach, but as soon as I selected either one, my options were severely limited to people whom I could ONLY contact through Facebook. GREAT! So, I picked Mert, but she got a broken link from FB, my Mom got one and hers worked, but I still have to get 2 more codes. I'm all for internet security, but this is just plain f'ing ridiculous!!! And of course, there is no way to e-mail FB or call them, so forget that! UGH!!!!

I'm one of the lucky few who have never been to Facebook and don't plan on going there.

Did somebody hijack your yahoo account? I didn't know they ever expired.

Of course its hard to recover or get your password reset. If it wasn't they would have a facebook page a second hijacked. You would be better off trying to recover the yahoo mail account.

Try not using Facebook for a month. I have friends that have found it liberating to get away from it.

No, I have been unemployed for the last year or so, so the almost $50 renewal fee wasn't a big priority in my budget. And, when I did try and log in when I was ready to pay up, the stupid site told me that my password was wrong, SO, I called the help desk to reset my password, and they wanted to charge me $100 to help reset my password, so I not so politely told them where they could shove their account and went to G-mail. Looks like I'll just have to recreate my FB account from scratch. I would just dump it and move on, but it is nice to share family pics and keep in touch with family, not much else, but at least that much!

My YAHOO email is free, I've had it for years.

I Creep... Jane has facebook so I occasionally use it to look at the local facebook page for the RAT group. I don't see why they don't send out messages via email at the same time.

Right, they do I just am not part of the facebook family.

I avoided FB until recently but now have an account. I don't use it for social networking much but what I have found is that FB is a deep well of sourced out information on topics of interest. I find people with similar interests, then follow their posts to links and threads that expedite my own personal research. What I've found is that EVERYTHING is on FB and as a result I rarely even Google anymore. No, I'm not much of a socialite on FB, but the information I've found there is amazing. It instantly became a very important tool for me to use as a knowledge base.

I signed up to keep up with the antics of my grandkids, but I've been "found" by quite a few people I knew 40+ years ago. Now I'm harangued with every picture/political cartoon/saying that they see. I should have used an alias.

I do not use facebook or Ywitter, Tweetor whatever it is now. When they come up with a foolproof voice activation, that works over the sound of my America, maybe.
