My humble Speedy now sports Progressive 412's at the rear and Progressive springs up front. The rears took about ten minutes to swap over. Easy job. The front took a bit more time but still easy. Old oil was drained then forks flushed with diesel several times. New oil added to 166mm height. I used a 50/50 mix of 10w and 15w Motul. New springs put in and stock preload with one extra washer was used. This gave slightly less preload than stock but as the Progressive springs are a bit firmer and shorter it seems to be spot on for me. The initial ride seemed to definitely be on the firmer side but after about 10k's I hardly noticed that at all, what I did notice was the vast improvement in damping. The whole bike feels more connected to the road and much more stable in corners. Dive under brakes is significantly reduced. I am extremely happy with these improvements. At a cost of $483.00 nz (including postage from the US) this has been worth every cent.

After a bit of seat of the pants testing I have settled on the rears being set at preload 3. Now where to ride to next........

Have gone back to preload 2 on the rears for solo riding, up to 3 for gear and son on the back (or wife by herself )
