Well as some of you know I ended up with a new job around a month ago, about a 45-50 minute commute. Well it's been to cold to ride and no way I was gonna drive my gas guzzling truck everyday, also really didn't like having to take my wife's car and leave her with my truck.
Anyway I ended up getting rid of the 04 America I got from Ed. And bought me an 05 Mini Cooper S for the drive. I still got my 07 Speedy. Please don't crucify me over this I had weighed it out for awhile, and as much as I would have liked the bike to stay in the family, I wouldn't have been able to get the deal I did.
Ok ready for bullets and insults now.

Sounds like the bike didn't have to go you just wanted the Mini. That's fine with us. Good luck with the new/used car.
So now you insure 3 4 wheel vehicles. I would think the insurance alone offsets any fuel savings putting you backwards financially.
But, not our business.
I try to aggravate one person a day. Today may be your day.

Actually I didn't want to finance the full amount I negotiated on the car and since I pretty much depleted my savings when I got laid off it was the best financial decision to let go of the bike. And I got more out of it than I would feel comfortable asking from anyone here. As far as the insurance it's really not that bad since both my wife and I have excellent driving records. about $150ish for full coverage on 3.That's about $40 more than I was paying. And about 2 days worth of gas in my truck. Or the car payment + the insurance = about 9 days in the truck. Yes I wanted the Mini but for these reasons: my truck gets about 13-15mpg, my wife's car is less than a year old and I don't wanna rack up the miles or leave her without it, sometimes it just to cold to ride and the mini still gets about 29 mpg. Also its a hoot to drive.
In MY perfect world I'd have a 40x 60 garage lined with all types of vehicles, mainly Triumphs.

Agree! It sucks when a bike leaves the fold but you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes and hey, you still have one! No bullets flying from here.
I also want a mini. I want the all wheel drive one. Looks like a blast!

I know, I really wish I could've kept it but just wasn't in the cards. Hopefully the new owner will find this site.

Relentless touring has kept me on lurker status and I haven't signed in much so I missed the pm. Once you rode off that bike was yours to do with as you wished, no guilt in using it to advance your family's needs. Hopefully the new owner will join the site and we'll get to meet another happy rider.
Doesn't mean I don't miss her...

Sounds like good decision making to me, and you still have a sweet bike to ride.

Indeed. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Triumph-Bonnevil...=US_motorcyclesIt's an odd feeling to see your old beloved ride on eBay.

Gotta hand it to ya, Ed! This is probably the most elaborate April Fools joke I've seen in some time.
(...'cause I can't believe you're sellin' that beautiful green and tan baby o' yours)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Shoot, Dwight, Matt bought it last summer when I switched over to an '06 Scrambler. Yep, I went back to a standard because I was having some issues with my knees and the forward set up, even with floorboards, wasn't doing it for me.

Oh, THAT'S right! I had forgotten that. Sorry. I now remember your whole knee issue thing and Matt's purchase of your bike.

Wow. It didn't get a single bid. Best of Show in 2008 and it didn't get a single bid. That kinda hurts a little.
